Hello everybody !
I made a vizualisation (C and OpenGL) of the spectrum array I get with FMODEX while playing an mp3.
The thing works fine but when I compare it to the iTunes or XMMS’s vizualisation, they are not very equal.
So I would like to know how many values do I need in my array to get a good spectrum ? and which one do I need to get a good value for the lowest frequency? (and for the highest and the others?)
Wow, my english is the weakest one I have been led to read !

You have to interpret the data yourself. We don’t know what xmms uses or itunes.
They possibly only use half of the spectrum (because the 11-22khz range is typically boring), and they could also be using log() representation of the spectrum to show the values in decibels instead of linear.
