Hi erveryone,

i wrote a sound-effect software for a dj. the app just plays sound when pressing a button, all the sounds are preloaded with
createSound(filename, FMOD_DEFAULT, 0, &sound);
and played with
playSound(FMOD_CHANNEL_FREE, &sound, false, channel);
but somehow i get a very big latency between the pressbutton-event and the output of my soundcard (guess 100ms). i googled allready but found no help.
im using ALSA on a ubuntu system.

100ms doesnt sound too bad, but you can play with latency by using System::setDSPBufferSize. Remember you are adjusting latency vs stability output when you use this so if you set something extremely low and it works on your machine, it is likely that it won’t work on someone elses machine.
