I’ve developed a nice mp3 player for the my pda. Ive implemented a spectrum display much like how winamp’s spectrum display looks like, but it seems the levels in the spectrum data is affected by the volume set though SetVolume. Is there a way to control the volume of the playback without affecting the spectrum ‘intensity’?
Also, is there a way through fmod to control the devices volume setting? Changing that also affects the max volume my app is capable of.
Here’s a preview of what my app looks like so far: http://bradburn.net/mr.mr/pics/pocketamp.jpg

eh I dont know if this is the best soltion, but I made a little hack that gets around the fft unit dropping levels when the volume is turned down.
I wrote a dsp routine that will adjust the volume and have its priority set so its executed AFTER the fft unit. Now I just leave SetVolume at max level while my app manages the real volume with its own value…works fine now, and the spectrum stays active even at 0 volume.
If somone knows of a less drastic workaround though, I’m open for suggestions 😉
