I have FMOD sample compiled and running in Delphi 6 Personal version, but when I run the FSOUND_Stream_OpenFile(PChar(‘http://www.mydomain.com.song1.mp3’), FSOUND_NORMAL or FSOUND_LOOP_NORMAL, 0) it fails. Can someone help me on how I can get .mp3 to stream from a web page in a delphi application.
Thanks in advance.
It fails immidiatly. I do have ZoneAlarm running, but ZA does not report anything about the software trying to access the net. I have tried with modem and cable, 2 different PCs, still the same result. Plays files from HDD no problem. I have DirectX 8.1.
PS. Yes the path was http://www.mydomain.com/song1.mp3
Thanks for following this up. Are there anyone else having similar problem? or is it just me?
here is a valid URL to a .mp3
http://www.armensoft.com.au/mp3/CD5-01.mp3 which is the same URL text used for my tests.
The question is, when I deploy my software, which will be freeware, I will not have the time to help people asking them if they have this or that software or driver installed, if it fails to work. Is there a list of minimum software/driver required for FMOD to run?
I don’t have DXSDK, just the update from MS Windows 2K pro update site.
[quote="brett":327ec8h8]i have reproduced the failure but it seems to be a directshow filter installation problem, i’ll have to find out why it doesnt work.[/quote:327ec8h8]
Thanx, It would be a good idea to report this errors back, so the software using FMOD can warn the user of possible missing driver options…
One workaround I have done is to use TCP/IP to get the file on the HDD, and play the song from there once enough bytes have been saved. The draw back is if the file does not arrive in time, playing stops and need to start from the begining again.
Oh well, I’ll be waiting
