Hey everyone I hope you can help me with my problem!
Basically I’m trying to create some 3D sound for a simple game I’m working on with my friend. My final aim is to have 50 sounds playing simultaneously in a dome which the player would trigger as he moves around inside the dome. I would like the five closest sounds to the character (which is where I’ve placed the listener) to be audible and the others to be virtual, similar to the Virtual Voices Example which comes with the fmod documentation. In the fmod documentation it states,
‘In a 3d world this usually means the closest sounds will be more important and the further away sounds, or the quieter sounds will be less important and will possibly become virtual.’
Does this mean that fmod should automatically make the channels further away from the listener virtual and the sounds closest to it audible? This is not happening in my code! Is there a simple way to ensure the sounds closest to the listener are audible and the others become virtual?
