i’m trying to write a program that will read the Input from my computer and
display the Frequency Spectrum Live.. I looked thru the documentation and
found how to get the spectrum when ur playing something and that worked
fine, but i need it for when i’m recording smthing.. is it possible? if so could someone post an example of how to implement that?

You can ‘record’ and simultaneous play the recorded data using fmod(ex) (so you’d need to have playback slightly delayed), or recording without fmod(ex) and process wavedata on your own.
Maybe this library may come handy:

ok thx, i have a new prob tho, i found how to play back what i’m recording but the problem is i’m recording the output of my computer, so I need a way to mute what comes out of my program, without affecting the Frequency spectrum.
Basically my system is as so:
iTunes —(Comp Output)–>(Y-cord comp Input)–> My FMOD program
the prob is my program is sending the signal it got back out to my comp’s sound output, which is causing feedback… so i tried muting and setting channel volumes to 0 but then i don’t get a spectrum anymore.. which was the whole point, so i’m stumped help PLZ!!!
