I have a small test app which analyses the wave and FFT of an MP3 file while it is playing in real time. I would like to carry out that analysis faster, by not having to stream the data in real time. Can anyone direct me to an example file\tutorial for C# which shows how to access the data in an mp3 file directly from the file, rather than having to stream it.

Also, if I do not stream the data and read the data directly from the MP3 file will I still be able to use the .getWaveData and .getSpecturm methods ? As I get the impression they only apply to live streaming audio?
