Recently upgraded to designer 4.27.00 and i’m having a few problems with templates.
I have a template with a parameter and layer/effect setup. There is a named parameter, which has a specific curve on the volume effect of the first layer.
I want to apply this template to a number of sound events so that each event will have the same parameter/effect setup. And I can’t seem to get it do it.
Any help appreciated…..

Aaahhhaaaa!!! Thanks Ben.
It wasn’t obvious to me in the first place, but the check boxes in the "use template" are essentially the same as the little padlock icons. I’d forgotten all about the list of properties the template itself uses.
I should replace my "we have a bug for sure" with "RTFM. Page 59."
Any chance we could look at the selection scrolling thing? (low-priority, but I gotta ask…)
[quote="mattconnolly":nab7f36j]Can I retrospectively apply the template to a bunch of sound events that were created with no template?
ie: I have 20 sounds, and I want all 20 to have the same parameter and volume effect curve.[/quote:nab7f36j]
Yes, this should work. You should be able to multi-select all 20 events and click the "Use template" button to apply the template to all of them at once.
Then we have a bug for sure.
Using the latest designer 4.27.03, I added a wave file to the project with no template.
Then I selected a template with a parameter+layer+effect curve like I mentioned above.
All of the properties of the sound become template referencing, showing up in a blue tint with a padlock next to them in the Event Editor properties view.
However, there is no change to the parameters and layer effects, even though there is a checkbox in the "select template" dialog box that is checked.
(Also, it would be nice if designer remembered the selected object, instead of selecting nothing and scrolling all the way to the top of the hierarchy list.)
I can send you the FDP project file if you like?
