[quote:c6a7n1hm]Error: The application has failed to start because the side by side configuration is incorrect please see the application event log or use the command line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail[/quote:c6a7n1hm]

The event log seems to report incompatible versions on the "Microsoft.VC80.CRT":
[quote:c6a7n1hm]Microsoft.VC80.CRT,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50727.6195".
Microsoft.VC80.CRT,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50727.4053".[/quote:c6a7n1hm]

Is that just my PC or is everyone getting that?

Thanks.

Edit:

I just modified the (Microsoft.VC80.CRT.manifest) file to require the version available and it seems to work but the questions still remains: is the problem just here?

Hi guys,

We recently identified this problem internally and it has been fixed for the next version. There is a simple work around if you need: download FMOD Designer and install it. Copy the following files from the FMOD Designer directory to the FMOD Programmers API/tools directory: [b:3044l31g]Microsoft.VC80.CRT.manifest[/b:3044l31g] along with all [b:3044l31g]DLL[/b:3044l31g]s

Apologies for the inconveniece.

After changing the files you said I built some FSBs but fmod wouldn’t open them, giving me an ERR_FORMAT.

I’ve built them using fsbankexcl with those parameters:
[code:1lsfgtye]
fsbankexcl mywave.wav -o mybank.fsb -verbosity 5 -format celt -rebuild -quality 80
[/code:1lsfgtye]
