Hello all,

I work with a small dev team on an iOS game so I, the music and sound designer, took the liberty to help with time and post on the forums (and to help keep my assets in the game! :P).

We are building a game for iOS devices and the music system is giving random crahses in the sim. Whenever we try to access a music cue from the music system random crashing happens after we uncomment the code. So far, none of the music cues work. The event system is running fine and fmod is not giving a report or error message. This is the info I have so far. Has anyone else encountered random crashes like these with the music system?

FMOD Music system is very stable and should not crash randomly as you describe if used correctly. The only cause of ‘random’ crashes in FMOD would be running out of memory, if you get FMOD_ERR_MEMORY it is a fatal error. Try linking with the logging version of FMOD and post the output.

Random crashes can also happen if you call FMOD functions from more than one thread.
