Hello,

Total newbie to anything like this…you have been warned! I am modding the in-game music to an on-line game (World of Tanks). Do not have their FDP file to go by, but have examined FEV/FSB with Event Player. Using Designer 4.30.06 (it was not recommended to use a more recent version, although there may be no basis of fact in that recommendation), I have created an FEV/FSB that does everything I want it to do. However, the in-game music volume adjust no longer works. All other volume adjusters still work (chat, ambient sounds, etc. – which all use separate FEV/FSB files). If I put the original files back in, the music volume adjust works fine.

It appears that that there may be some setting in Designer that I am over-looking. Any ideas? Thank you for your time and advice.

In the original the music is in the music category, in the modded version it is in master category.

Peter, thank you very much for staying with me.

Yes, I noticed that as well. However, I can find no way to have the Events lining up under Music. Even in the FMOD User’s Manual, the example format they picture looks like my file, and not the original W.o.T. format. In addition, my creation works in all aspects except for the in-game volume adjustment. If I had the Event file associations in the wrong place, then nothing should work.

Would you please take a look at this video I uploaded to Youtube? It shows how I set up my Event Hierarchy and Categories. Maybe I am arranging them wrong, and you can correct me. I appreciate all your time you have invested in helping me. Thanks.

You can just click and drag to move the events in to the music category, just like moving files around in Windows Explorer. The ‘master’ is the default, everything goes in there until you move it.

They are probably using a specific Category to control the volume. Look at what categories they have in their FEV and match that up with your project.

Thank you for your response. I have uploaded screen shots of the Original’s and the Modded’s category. As you can see, they have the same events listed. I noticed, however, that the events line up slightly differently on the tree…is that important? I would think not, since the events do play correctly in the game.

In addition, the original FEV does not play the Modded FSB correctly. I do not believe it should play it correctly, but I thought I would just mention this. When I try to do this, some of the events are silent, and others play the wrong music piece.

This is why I am wondering if there is some setting that I am over-looking in using FMOD Designer. Also, is there a program that can read the actual code from the original FEV? Maybe there is something there that needs to be added to my modded FEV. Thanks.

Hello. I was wondering if anyone had an idea about my issue. Is there a setting in Designer that I am over looking, or some other thing i need to do to allow the in-game volume adjuster to work? Thanks.
