Hi there,

Is it possible to use external sound folder instead of a FSB bank?

[I want my players/modders to can access to my sound files to replace them for their mods.]

PS: So, i basically need information of, for example, when i build a folder with same structure of the bank, is it possible for the programmer use that folder instead of FSB bank? Or any other similiar ways?

In addition to Oscillators and Sound Files, Sound Defs can include "Programmer Sounds," which allow the sound file to be used to be specified at run-time. In the Sound Defs view, right-click on a sound def and select the ‘Add Programmer Sound’ menu item. A sound def with a programmer sound will generate a callback whenever it is triggered at run-time, allowing the game code to select the source audio file by any means the programmer chooses.

Unfortunately, programmer sounds do make it more difficult for a Designer 2010 user to design and audition sounds, so you might want to carefully consider the benefits and disadvantages of this method before committing to it.

Information on implementing programmer sounds can be found in the FMOD Programmer’s API documentation, under ‘FMOD_EVENT_CALLBACKTYPE_SOUNDDEF_CREATE,’ ‘FMOD_EVENT_CALLBACKTYPE_SOUNDDEF_RELEASE’ and ‘Event::SetCallback.’

EDIT: I am informed that it is also possible to use FMOD_EVENT_INIT_USER_ASSETMANAGER for this.
