Embarrassing noob question:
How do you change the volume of a single soundfile in a simple event playlist? I have 5 files in a simple event that I want to trigger randomly, but one jumps out. I can’t seem to figure out how to change properties on just one file!

I don’t think there is a way to do that inside Designer. Generally the best way to make this kind of modification is in the source data. Can you just open the sound file in your DAW and resave the file at a quieter volume?[/quote:1q3bfzu4]
Really? It seems like such an obvious feature that I assumed I must be missing it. I [i:1q3bfzu4]can[/i:1q3bfzu4] go back to my DAW, but since you can change levels at so many other stages it seemed like I should be able to at the playlist level as well.

Designer doesn’t allow you to set specific levels on a per-file basis within a Simple Event because altering the level of a entry at runtime consumes system resources, and Simple Events are optimised for minimal resource consumption.
There are workarounds you might be able to use if you switched to Multi-track events containing sound defs, but exactly what method would work best would depend on what you’re trying to do, and the cheapest option in terms of resources will always be adjusting the file’s level in a DAW.
