Hi,

I’ve got two files than isn’t recognized at all by FMOD. I’m not using the latest version, but I doubt that the mp3 or flac code has any changes since the version I’m using. Both files play fine in VLC and Foobar. The mp3 can’t be played in Windows Meia Player (and doesn’t support flac at all). The flac was made by VLC. The mp3 I don’t know (Although the rest of the tracks from the album plays fine).

Here’s a downloadlink with the two files:

Would be interesting to know why/if there’s something from with them.

The mp3 works fine here (using fmodex 4.38.07)
The flac appears to has a lenght of 0 seconds when loaded by fmodex (when loaded by my player, not investigated further).

OK, so does VLC produce incorrect flac files or is this a bug in FMOD? Any mods that could take a look at it?

Just by coincidence used your flac file with BASS instead of FMODEx. Plays there, but the song length in milliseconds I get from the dll is 0.

Thanks for your patience, I’ve finally had some time to look into these files.

  1. MP3: This file works, just use the FMOD_MPEGSEARCH flag to keep scanning the file looking for a valid start offset.
  2. FLAC: This file reports its length as 0, which can be valid for some FLAC files. I’ve put a fix in that will allow you to open this file with FMOD_CREATESTREAM, otherwise an error will be reported saying that as the file has no length, you must use FMOD_CREATESTREAM to load it.

The fix from #2 will be in our next release.
