I created some event files (after creating the event group folders) but yet my event files show a "red circle (or dot) with what looks like a letter or number in the middle of it" What is wrong with my event files???

Absolutely nothing. Or rather, potentially something, but only if you’re really trying hard to reduce the resource consumption of your project.

The letter-within-a-circle icon indicates whether an event is a ‘simple’ or ‘complex’ event. What you’re seeing, the red circle with a ‘C,’ is the icon indicating complex events. The icon for simple events is a green circle containing an ‘S.’

Simple events are better optimised than complex ones. However, in order to qualify as a simple event, an event needs to contain no parameters, no effects, no user properties, no more than one layer, only one sound def, and no programmer sounds. ‘Simple Events’ created using the ‘Add Simple Event…’ context menu item automatically have these restrictions built-in, but a multi-track event can also qualify as a simple event if it fills the requirements. We refer to such multi-track events as ‘Basic Multi-Track Events.’

Admittedly, this is not the clearest part of our interface. Our manual isn’t very clear on the distinction and doesn’t say what the icon means, and the two overlapping but subtly different defintions of the ‘Simple Event’ term make confusion distressingly easy (It seemed like a good idea at the time). These issues have been addressed in Studio.
