I have implemented FMOD into Ogre recently. However, when i tried to play a sound i recieved an error stating that the file could not be found. (Error 23) I went into debug mode and check each step. The file path is corrently identified and the file is also there. Any ideas why do I still get the error 23?
It appears that it is something to do with my &sound.
result = system->createSound((const char *)newSoundInstance, FMOD_3D | FMOD_HARDWARE, 0, &sound);

1) Are you using the fmodex version provided by ogre? Otherwise there might be an imcompatibility with FMOD_CREATESOUNDEXINFO (so this structure seems not to have changed for over a year now)
2) Are you using unicode / are those file unicode?
