Hi everyone,

Is there a way to set global parameters to be used by multiple events ? I haven’t seen this anywhere in fmod. Basically something along the lines of what XACT allows you to do. A global comes into Xact, and multiple events grab it and use it for all sorts of behavior.

I’m working on a rolling mechanic game curently and there’s a global speed coming if for Player 1 as he rolls around. See attached image

Variables>Global >Global Ball Speed

> Controls: Speed To Music Volume (and filter frequency ducker)
> also Controls:Ambience ducker (volume)

and thus multiple events are attached to these Globals.

Thanks !

Unfortunately, Designer 2010 doesn’t allow you to set up global parameters. If you want the parameters of a variety of event instances to be set to the same value, you will have to write that behavior into your game’s code.

FMOD Studio is going to have support for global parameters, but it hasn’t been implemented yet.
