Hi,

I have an event project using a sound bank for playing streamed music. The point is that the "getevent" is always failing when trying to get the event from the project resulting in a "file not found" FMOD result. The soundbank type is set to "Stream from disk" but if I change it to "Load into memory" works perfectly. The problem of course would be that "load into memory" could be quite expensive for streaming music.

I have tested this in several devices until now (Galaxy Nexus, Kindle Fire HD, Nexus 7, Moto Xoom) and it is a common problem.
I am using FMOD version 4.42.03

Thanks,
Javier

I cannot think of a reason why stream from disk would not work when load into memory does. I should mention that to use the FMOD built in file IO the media must be on the SD card, otherwise filesystem callbacks should be used to access the asset manager.

Could you send a simple test case to support@fmod.org demonstrating this problem and I will investigate further.

Yes, I am sorry. It is working peoperly in the SDCARD folder 😉

So we need to write the necessary callbacks and set them to the FMOD fileSystem for making it work with the Android assets folder.

Thanks!

Yes, that is correct. It isn’t a lot of code to setup the file callbacks, provided you are using Android-9 or higher. As such, when FMOD Studio for Android is released we will be embedding support for asset loading directly.
