Hi!

First, I apologize for my bad English, I’m French. :)

I’d like to make a command line program (for Linux) that show the spectrum of an audio flux (ex:microphone) in the Terminal.
Something like this:
[img:1ovfnp9q]http://xamarin.com/apps/resources/led_audio_spectrum_app/9[/img:1ovfnp9q]
but with "." and " ", for example:
[code:1ovfnp9q] .
..
..
..
. .. .
.. ..... .. .. ..
. .. ...... .. . .. .. . .. . . ... . ....
.. .......... .. . .. .... ... .. .. ...... ... . ......... . .. .... .. . . .
.............. ...... ............. ......... . ... ... ............ .. ............ .. .. . .............. ... .. .......
................................... .......................................................................... ................
...............................................................................................................................[/code:1ovfnp9q]

Si I’ve found the [i:1ovfnp9q]pitchdetection[/i:1ovfnp9q] example, I’ve change the SPECTRUMSIZE from 8192 to 128 (the spectrum must fit in the Terminal windows! ๐Ÿ˜› ).
I’ve changed the main.c, got next of my piano and it works, I get the spectrum!
But, the spectrum is not printed in [i:1ovfnp9q]live[/i:1ovfnp9q]…
I mean if I press a key on my piano, I’ll get a spectrum of the sound 2/3s later, and I don’t know why! If I press another key, I’ll need to wait 2/3s again to get the new spectrum, it’s quite awful.
It’s not just 2/3s of latency, it’s just weird, it doesn’t seem to fit with reality! ๐Ÿ˜•

Sorry if I can’t explain my issue very well, but you can test my program to see what’s wrong!
Does any of you have an idea?

Thanks for helping me!
Have a nice day!
