Hello,

I’m trying Fmod with a simple little game program.

I have a problem when there are multiple sounds played at the same time.
For example, I have sometimes 20 sfx + 2 voices + 1 music background at the same time.
When this happens, the global sounds quality is degrading very poorly, like a big distortion. When SFX finish playing, one after other, the global sounds quality is back. It’s like if there wasn’t enough channels available on the sound card.
I’m under Linux Ubuntu 12.04.

Is it a known problem ? I tried to limit number of channels, but without any change.

Can you try calling System::getCPUUsage, is the total going over 100? If so you are saturating the CPU with too much processing, that would explain the quality issues.
