Ahhahahahahahaha, I decided to play around with the sample fmod player.. lalala… having some fun… then I try and do something really $%^#ing silly… drop a movie onto it! lol, well, Mpeg it reported invalid format.. then I tryed an avi… and to my suprise..it actualy does play avi audio
Go figure Any idea if it will play any avi the system can play or just ones with audio in certen formats like mp3?

If you read the ChangeLog.txt found in the Documentation directory, you will find (in fmod 3.32 revision) :
“* FMOD will now play the audio track out of AVI files – ie DIVX etc :)”
Avi is not a compressed format, just a repository where you put (compressed) data like divx, xvid … Mpeg is a compressed data from the beginning though fmod can’t play the sound (it is possible but it is not the purpose of a sound library).

Ah, never noticed. Yea mpeg support is pertty pointless. AVI support is kinda too tho… makes it easyer to play avi files in d3d applications on textures and stuff I guess… ah well, cute feature anyhow
