Removing event orientation

Hi, I have an engine sound for a vehicle that can turn 180 degrees rapidly in one spot. I noticed that every time it turns around the engine sound gets this weird effect. I tried changing the built in parameters to see which causes this and it turns out its event orientation.

So my question is - how can I completely bypass this so that the sound stays the same regardless of the orientation of the vehicle?

Hi Lovro,

If you’re using the FMOD Spatializer you can set the Envelopment to User and change the Min Extent property to 360 degrees. This will give you attenuation but not panning which will prevent this odd effect on the event.

Thanks,
Richard

Hey Richard, thanks for your help. I’ve tried doing what you said but it still sounds unpleasant. As I said, this is something that happens pretty fast in game and can be simulated by rotating the event orientation parameter as fast as possible in Fmod studio. Is there anything else that can be done besides turning envelopment off?

Hi Lovro,

I’m sorry the min extent property didn’t help. Could you upload a video capture of this issue happening? I’m not able to replicate it on my end.

Thanks,
Richard

Hi Lovro,

Have you been able to capture a video of this issue happening?
