Routing sub events to a different mixer track than its parent.

Heya peeps,

Just wondering if there is a way of routing a sub event to a different track than its parent. When I have tried this, even if the sub event is just referencing the sub event from outside the parent and exists independently, it always plays in the same mixer track.

Hi Bradley,

There isn’t a pretty solution to this, but here’s one you can use:

  1. Create a return bus in your mixer
  2. Add a send to this return bus on the master track of your referenced (sub) event, before the volume fader
  3. Set the send to 0db and set the event’s master track volume to -oodB (muted)

When you trigger the referenced event it should ignore the tracks of the event it is referenced in and go straight to the mixer.
