We just released our game “The Flame in the Flood”, using UE4 4.9.2 and fmod 1.7.2. Unfortunately a number of our users are experiencing random crashes, and it appears to be fmod related.

I know this is vague, but are there any settings I could look into? SampleRate, number of voices, etc? It seems to happen on both windows 8 and 10. It doesn’t happen on Xbox One. Unfortunately, I have been unable to reproduce for myself.

Users have sent reports that look like this:

Faulting application name: RiverGame-Win64-Shipping.exe, version: 4.9.2.0, time stamp: 0x56cc78a9
Faulting module name: fmod64.dll, version: 0.1.7.2, time stamp: 0x5636da1e

If we trust the fault offset from the crash report then it appears to be coming from vorbis decoding. There aren’t any known issues with 1.07.02 that would cause a crash, but if you contact support@fmod.com and send us your banks, we can run a bunch of tests on them and see if we can find any problems.

I just zipped up our banks and sent them over along with some additional information. Thank you so much.
